The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has issued notices to two prominent Tollywood studios — Annapurna Studios and Ramanaidu Studios — for failing to pay their business license fees.
According to GHMC officials, Annapurna Studios has outstanding business license dues amounting to ₹7 lakh. The studio reportedly made a payment of ₹7 lakh after receiving the notice, but officials say that additional amounts are still pending.
The issue intensified after it was found that Bigg Boss Season 9 was being conducted on the Annapurna Studios premises through temporary arrangements without obtaining the necessary permissions from the municipal authorities.
Ramanaidu Studios also received notices from GHMC for unpaid license fees. Against outstanding dues of ₹1.92 lakh, the studio has so far paid only ₹1,900, leaving a large balance unpaid.
GHMC issued these notices earlier this month as part of a crackdown on establishments operating without clearing their mandatory business license fees.
