National Award–winning actress Keerthy Suresh has accelerated her career even further after beginning a new chapter in her personal life. While staying busy with back-to-back projects, she revealed that she has now started making serious efforts to step into direction. Her statement, “I’m writing a story on my own,” has sparked curiosity in film circles.
Speaking at the promotions of Revolver Rita, Keerthy opened up for the first time about her journey towards becoming a director. Having already excelled as an actress, her move toward story writing and direction is noteworthy. Savitri, whom Keerthy portrayed in Mahanati, was also a director—something well known. Keerthy beginning a similar journey has drawn the attention of the industry.
She has completely broken the stereotype that actresses slow down after marriage. Instead, the number of offers she has been receiving has not decreased—she continues to move ahead with even greater momentum.
Talking about her husband, she humorously said, “He has no interest in films. There is absolutely no chance of him acting with me.”
Recently, a deepfake video featuring her and actress Samantha went viral, becoming a hot topic everywhere. Expressing deep concern over this cyber-attack, Keerthy strongly demanded that India should also implement strict laws like some foreign countries for women’s safety. “Deepfakes are dangerous not only to celebrities but also to ordinary women… the laws must be stronger,” she said.
Keerthy Suresh, who is about to begin a new journey as a director, is now gearing up to entertain the audience not just as an actress but also as a storyteller.
